Vilnius Presented at International Tourism Exhibitions
The Vilnius City tourism possibilities have been actively presented at the international tourism exhibition in Utrecht, Holland and at exhibitions in the capital of Spain, Madrid and Helsinki, the capital of Finland. All of these exhibitions are highly frequented, more than 200 thousand visitors attend them every year and publications on Vilnius tourism, maps and souvenirs have been handed out to them.
Information about Vilnius in Finnish and Spanish assisted to more concise presentation of the city’s cultural heritage, new in tourism services, as well as inviting guests to short and long trips, concerts, festivals and other events on the city. Exhibition visitors were interested in the possibilities to visit Vilnius, coordination of travel arrangements with the events and festivals in the city, new tourist objects and services.
The video-presentation on tourism in Vilnius and information report in Finnish was done for local media and travel agencies at the exhibition in Helsinki.
The Madrid exhibition “Fitur 2012” had 10,434 participants from 166 countries and was visited by 209,260 visitors. It was also visited by 7,726 journalists from 59 countries. The exhibition “Vakantiebeurs 2012” in Utrecht was visited by 126,551 visitors. The exhibition “Matka 2012” in Helsinki, Finland hosted 71,098 visitors.
