The Renewed Vilnius City Card Fits the Needs of Visitors to Vilnius Even Better

Vilnius City CardThe Vilnius City Card project, which is now in its eighth successful year, will again contribute to welcoming visitors to Vilnius. The Vilnius City Card now has an integrated public transport ticket: therefore, tourists can conveniently and completely free of charge reach places of interest that are outside the city centre. Proposals from our partners and a discount system help us to find answers to numerous practical questions that the first-time visitor to the capital might have, and recommend places, exhibitions and objects that are worth visiting, places to spend leisure time or purchase traditional Lithuanian souvenirs and treats, and places to enjoy a meal or find entertainment.

In 2017, the Vilnius City Card will offer visitors even more free leisure activities. Visitors are kindly invited to as many as 20 public museums, including Gediminas’ Castle (from February), the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the Bastion of the City Wall, the National Gallery of Art, the Old Arsenal, the New Arsenal, the Museum of Applied Art, the Music, Cinema and Theatre Museum, the Church Heritage Museum, the Museum of Genocide Victims, the Toy Museum, and the Railway Museum. Holders of the Vilnius City Card can join guided tours organised by the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in the Unesco-protected Old Town, one of the largest in Eastern Europe. Card holders are offered more than 130 discounts for other excursions, visits to museums, tickets to concerts, meals in coffee shops and restaurants, and souvenirs. Exclusive offers with the Vilnius City Card are also available for new excursions, such as snow boots, hot air balloon flights, Segway rides, rowing and canoeing, and a number of other leisure activities and experiences in and around Vilnius.

This year, the Vilnius Television Tower and the Paukščių Takas (Milky Way) restaurant on its observation platform, which offers a stunning view of Vilnius and its surroundings for 50 kilometres, joined the Vilnius City Card project. Another new participant is the newly opened Vilnil Museum of Illusions, offering card holders an opportunity to observe reality from a different angle. Those who love fashion will find exclusive discounts at Adatytė, Atsikeli ir varai, Giedrius, Kaip Tu?, LT identity, and many other shops in Vilnius.

Visitors from 60 countries enjoyed the benefits of the Vilnius City Card during 2016. It was especially encouraging to see visitors from the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Bahrain and Indonesia acquire and use the Vilnius City Card. Tourists from Germany, Poland and Russia are the most frequent users of the cards, often preferring the 72-hour Vilnius City Card.

Vilnius City Cards are available at all Vilnius Tourism Information Centre outlets.
