Like every year, this year during the first weekend of March the streets, squares and other expected and unexpected places will be flooded with the Kaziukas Fair. For three days, you will have no shortage of opportunities to feast your eyes on the celebration, spend money, have fun, join in on traditional Lithuanian dances, and participate in the various festivities.

Street Music Day is the event which unites all who speak the world’s most universal language – the language of music. In response to the invitation from musician and actor Andrius Mamontovas, professional and amateur musicians flood into the streets, yards, parks and squares of Vilnius. Armed with a variety of musical instruments, they play rock, classics, jazz, avant-garde and folklore and beat African rhythms. On this day all Lithuanian cities and towns engage into the fest of free creation and socialising between musicians and the public.

This festival has been taking place in Vilnius since 1973 and it is one of the very few authentic festivals of folk music in Europe. Events of the festival together with its participants, which present the most valuable folk compositions to the audience, motivates a greater interest of our society and festival guests in Lithuania‘s traditional culture, broadens collaboration relations of local and international folklorists, leads to a more professional worldwide presentation of Lithuanian ethnic culture, affects the development of cultural tourism.

During the Culture Night (former Let it be Night!) the squares, streets, parks, and the most unexpected spaces in Vilnius are filled with the projects of various types of artistic projects: music, dance, theatre, cinema, photography, state-of-the-art installations, etc. A one-night festival was first organized in Lithuania in 2007 preparing for the events of Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009.

Vilnius City Fiesta is one of the most important multi-art form festival in Vilnius organized annually since 1993. It is the biggest and most spectacular festival of Vilnius with hundreds of events, great artists, high level performances, exhibitions, actions dedicated to all citizens and city guests. Vilnius City Fiesta takes place in the largest open-air spaces of Vilnius such as Cathedral Square (capacity up to 15.000 people), Gedimino Avenue (main street of the city, capacity up to 100.000 people per 1 day) and sometimes Vingis Park (capacity up to 30.000 people).
