2017

At the I-III quarter of a 2017 year Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of  9 2196 visitors of whom 79 230 were foreigners and 12 966 Lithuanians (14%). Compared with I-III quarter of a 2016 year the number increased by 8,14%. In 2016 there was a total of  100 362 visitors (86 424 foreigners and 13 938 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in July (13 746), the least – in February (5 888). The majority of visitors came from Germany (10 219), Russia (9 160) and Poland (8 062).

Most visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in I-III quarter of a 2017 was at Vilnius Town Hall (42 944 visitors), second – centre at Vilnius international airport (25 409 visitors).

2016

At the 2016 Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of  128 956 visitors of whom 110 601 were foreigners and 18 207 Lithuanians (~14%).  In 2015 there was a total of 150 430 visitors (127 822 foreigners and 22 608 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in August (22 337), the least – in February (5 346). The majority of visitors came from Germany (12 304), Russia (11 004),  and Poland (10 670).

2015

At the 2015 year Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of  150 430 visitors of whom 127 822 were foreigners and 22 608 Lithuanians (~15 %). Compared with a 2014 year the number increased by 12,15%. In 2014 there was a total of  134 132 visitors (111 125 foreigners and 23 007 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in August (26 007), the least – in February (5 156). The majority of visitors came from Poland (15 066), Germany (14 425) and Russia (13 588).

Most visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in a 2015 year was in a Town Hall (49 427), second – centre at Vilnius international airport (48 040 visitors) and Tourist Information Centre on Vilniaus Str. was visited by 31 557 visitors.

2014

At the 2014 year Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of 134 132 visitors of whom 111 125 were foreigners and 23 007 Lithuanians (~17 %). Compared with a 2013 year the number increased by 4,79%. In 2013 there was a total of 128 004 visitors (103 036 foreigners and 24 968 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in August (21 238), the least – in February (5 046). The majority of visitors came from Russia (18 684), Poland (13 483) and Germany (12 437).

Most visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in a 2014 year was in a Town Hall (37 152), second – centre at Vilnius international airport (36 335 visitors) and a Tourist Information Centre at Cathedral square was visited by 32 167 visitors.

2013

At the January-November of a 2013 year Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of 128 004 visitors of whom 103 036 were foreigners and 24 968 Lithuanians (19,51%). Compared with a 2012 year the number increased by 12,58%. In 2012 there was a total of 113 699 visitors (91 037 foreigners and 22 662 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in August (19 879), the least – in February (5 096). The majority of visitors came from Russia (18 981), Poland (10 812) and Germany (10 375).

Most visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in January-November of a 2013 year was at Vilnius international airport (36 674 visitors), second – centre in Town Hall (33 543). Main Tourist Information Centre at Vilnius st. 22 was visited by 30 303 visitors.

2012

In 2012 Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by a total of 113 661 visitors of whom 90 994 were foreigners and 22 662 Lithuanians (20 %). Compared with 2011 the number increased by 3,68 %. In 2011 there was a total of 109 632 visitors (86 806 foreigners and 22 826 Lithuanians).

The largest number of visitors came in August (18 674), the least – in February (3 957). The majority of visitors came from Russia (17 401), Poland (12 499) and Germany (9 921). This year the number of visitors from neighbour country Belarus increased significantly (6 124).

Most visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centre in 2012 was in Town Hall (33 945 visitors), second – at Vilnius international airport (30 628 visitors). Information Centres in Vilnius st. and Cathedral square were visited by more than 27 thousand people, at the railway station – by more than 25 thousand.

2011

Each year Vilnius Tourist Information Centres receives an increasing number of visitors. In 2011, visitor statistics in four Vilnius Tourist Information Centres (VTIC) saw a record-breaking number – 109,632. The majority of visitors consisted of foreigners (86 806) and about 21 percent of Lithuanians(22 826).As compared to the previous year, the number of visitors increased by 22.41% in 2011.

The biggest growth in numbers was noticed during May-September months (70,637). These visitors account for over half of the total number of visitors. The least number of visitors was received in February (2,813).

Countries, from which Vilnius Tourist Information Centre received the biggest number of guests were:

During 2011 Vilnius Tourist Information Centre located in Town Hall Square was the most frequented one of all the four Centres – 35,840 visitors. Other centres received a smaller number of visitors: a pavilion in the Cathedral square saw 25,599; on Vilnius St. 22 – 24,539; on Geležinkelis St. 16 – 23,630 visitors.

The fifth Vilnius Tourist Information Centre opened in May 2011 also saw a great number of visitors totalling 19,862 (of which 5,722 – Lithuanians).

2010

In 2010 Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by 85 064 visitors. The majority were foreigners – 67 162, Lithuanians – 17 902. In 2010 the number of visitors increased by as much as 12.49% as compared with that in 2009. The biggest growth in numbers was noticed from May to September totalling 57 204 visitors. The number of visitors during this period made up more than half of the number for the entire year. The smallest number of visitors came in February (2 252).

Countries, from which Vilnius Tourist Information Centres received the biggest number of guests were: Poland – 11 665, Germany – 9 297, Russia – 7 601, France – 3 914, Spain – 3 733, Finland – 3 260, G. Britain – 2 369, Italy – 1 592, Netherlands – 1 448, USA – 778.

Vilnius Tourist Information Centre located in Didžioji g. 31 (Town Hall) was the most frequented one of all the four Centres (29 242 visitors) in 2010. The greatest number of tourists visited this centre in July and August.

2009

The year 2009 was a special year for Vilnius and Lithuania. Vilnius was the European Capital of Culture and Lithuania was celebrating the millenium of its name. A big number of events and city‘s significant festivals attracted especially big number of foreign visitors.

In 2009 Vilnius Tourist Information Centres were visited by 74 436 visitors. The majority were foreigners – 59 820 and local Lithuanians – 14 616. In 2009 the number of visitors increased by as much as 32.36% as compared with that in 2008. The biggest growth in numbers was noticed during May, June, July, August and September totalling 52 710 visitors. The slight decrease (8 – 9%) in tourist numbers was noticed in February and March compared to the same period of the year 2008, but the results of the first half of the year 2009 were surprisingly high.

Countries, from which Vilnius Tourist Information Centre received the biggest number of guests were: Poland – 11 192 (15.03%), Germany – 9 496 (12.75%), Russia – 4 322 (5.84%), France – 4 059 (5.45%), Spain – 3 223 (4.32%), Finland – 2 897 (3.89%), G. Britain – 2 137 ( 2.87%), Italy – 1 911 (2.56%), USA – 1 797 (2.41%), Latvia – 1 120 (1.50%). If compared to the same period last year, there is an increase in the number of visitors from the neighbouring countries (Latvia, Belarus, Russia), as well as the far away countries, such as Australia and Japan.

2008

In 2008 four Vilnius Tourist Information Centres (VTIC) were visited by 50 352 tourists. This is the largest number of visitors throughout the entire time of the activity of VTIC. A considerable increase in the number of tourists was observed in the year 2004, and then the number of tourists amounted to a little more than 46 000 people.

Recently the number of visitors in Vilnius Tourism Information Centres has been constantly on the increase. In 2008 the number of visitors increased by as much as 10.3 % as compared with that in 2007.

May – September saw the largest number of tourists (32 403 visitors). The number of tourists who visited Vilnius Tourist Information Centres during those months totalled more than half a number of the whole year. The smallest number of tourists visiting the Centres was registered in January (2070).

Most tourists come from Poland (7044), Germany (6923), Finland (3698), France (2984), Russia (2900), Spain (2507), Italy (1970), Great Britain (1866), the USA (1082), Sweden (493).

In 2008 Vilnius Tourist Information Centre located in Town Hall Square was the most frequented one of all the four Centres (25 778 visitors). The greatest number of tourists visited this Centre in July and August.
