Active City Break

Active Vilnius City Break

Take the more active route to exploring Vilnius and see the city from its rivers or even from up above.

Kayak Down the Vilnelė and Neris Rivers

Typically, renting a kayak means you’ll be picked up in town and taken to your starting location, then end your journey in the city centre. You can see different parts of the city while slowly floating down the Vilnelė and Neris rivers. To book a kayak, simply choose one of the operators listed here.

Take a Ride on a Hot Air Balloon

Vilnius is the only European capital that allows hot air balloons to float right above the city centre. Every balloon ride passes over Vilnius’ Old Town, providing great photo opportunities. Typically, a ride costs around €100 per person, but occasionally there are discounts and last minute offers. Simply check with the companies that operate this service here. More about taking a ride on a hot air balloon find here.

Get Climbing at Uno Park

Does climbing to the treetops or taking a zip line across the Neris River sound like your kind of thing? If so, don’t miss Uno Park. Located a short drive away from central town and accessible by public transport, it’s a great spot for active leisure in the woods of Antakalnis.

See Vilnius from a Bike

Cyclocity is Vilnius’ extensive bike rental service. Short trips are free and passes cost as little as € 2.90. To use the service, you’ll need to have a valid credit card and at least €159 in your account for a safety deposit, which will only be charged if you fail to return a bike. Get your ticket, hop on and experience Vilnius like a local cyclist here.

Take Part in the Vilnius Challenge

On 2 June, Vilnius will host the biggest multi-sport competition in the world. Around 1,000 people participate each year and aside from it being a real physical challenge, the event is an unbelievably fun and a unique way to experience Vilnius. The challenge involves jogging, cycling, paddling, climbing and much more; all in some of the most picturesque areas of Vilnius. Find out more about this event here.

Unwind at a Spa

After a long day outside, there’s really no better treat than a visit to the spa. Vilnius has a lot to choose from and you’ll find everything from short relaxing massages to more elaborate procedures. Just pick your favourite and book a time here.

Grab a Bite at Mano Guru

Mano Guru is probably Vilnius’ go-to spot when you’re looking to eat healthy. The place is known for its wide variety of salads and prime location on Vilniaus Street, where you can grab a seat by the window and do some people watching.

Treat Yourself to Dinner at Time

Time Restaurant is a true local favourite. With elaborate dishes and prices that put it at the higher end of the spectrum, Time is well worth a visit for anyone who’s after culinary delights prepared by local chefs.
